I totally agree with the previous post. From where I was stood (and not as good a position as the ref) the ball clearly hit the upper left arm of the defender. No doubt about that and a clear decision for the ref. I am only surprised that the reaction of the player was so unsporting as to speak to the official in the way he did. Respect?
It was a great game but credit to our boys who deserved the win despite not being at their best. Christchurch showed guts and determination to make it into a really great cup fixture but the better team won on the day. Well done boys!!!
Having just read Christchurch's report on last Sundays Hants Cup quarter final, it would seem, the result "hinged on the one decision" - the penalty, (and this is by OUR own admission - or so it states in their report). Well, if the match had ended 1-2 with the penalty being the decider, i could, perhaps, go along with this view but the fact is, we got another goal after the penalty and came very close to getting four, when one of our boys headed against the crossbar. Yes, Christchurch were on the front foot for the first part of the 2nd half (which led to their equaliser) and got themselves some corners but you expect this from a home team trying to get back into a game. In reality, apart from their equaliser, they troubled our goalie little and our boys worked hard in all areas of the pitch to make it hard for Christchurch to break us down and create any real clear cut chances. There wasn't a lot of pretty football played by either side on the day, such was the occasion but our boys showed that they are a hard team to beat, they were disciplined, showed a lot of team spirit and worked hard for each other and did what was required of them on the day and put us into the semi finals. As for the Christchurch report implying that, no one, apart from the ref saw the handball, that led to the penalty, this isn't correct, a few of us saw the ball hit their players upper arm and get pushed away, we just didn't think it was going to be given, as the ref took a few seconds to decide if it was a penalty. It must be a tough decision to award a penalty against the home team which is most probably why he thought about it for a few seconds before calling it. Anyway Christchurch, you tried hard, give you that, but even though our boys were not at their best today, you still couldn't beat them. Oh well, better luck next time. Two words for your report though - Sour Grapes!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to the SCFC Tyro Squad and everyone associated with it (players, coaches, assistants, parents, brothers and sisters, etc). Hope you have a good one!!!!! All the very best. Trev, Sarah, Billy, Brayden & Kyle. XXX

REMEMBER boys, which some seem to be forgetting - YOU HAVE ONLY LOST ONE GAME so far !! Ok so it may have been to Pace, but you need to hold your heads HIGH not low !! You don't need to put your hands up and say you weren't good enough ! There's no point - !! You don't have to cheat or play dirty to get results do you?? We need that Salisbury fighting spirit and come back again next year with passion and determination, just like Pace did this year. No-one has achieved what we did last year and to be honest probably never will !! You are SALISBURY CITY - Be proud of yourselves - We are all proud of you - You are still the BEST team there is and we love you all for it !! xxxxxxx

Hampshire Cup Final preview & brief details on recent matches now published at www.sport4salisbury.com
Well done Boys !! Though please please please don't leave it that long before we score again and get in front of the other team, I nearly had a heart attack and at one point there was almost a pitch invasion from all Mums !!!!!!!!! :o)
Well done boys on your win today. x
Great job today boys - you certainly had us on the edge of our seats. Don't leave us in suspense as long in the Hants cup final though, I don't think my nerves could take it! Well done to you all. xxx
Well done to all the boys and coaches good game and all of u had to dig deep for the result!!!!
Congratulations boys, for reaching your second final of the season. You worked hard against Pace Youth Pumas and showed a lot of determination to come back from 1-0 down and win the match. Well done, all of you! Yrs Trev
Reporting from "Sunny Sheffield"!!!! A great performance from all the boys today-Well Done!!
Well done lads - you did it - you've made it to the final of the Hampshire cup! Great going. Keep it up boys.
Trev, many thanks for responding, Im certain no offence was meant by you as you say it was written straight after the match when emotions after running high especially after a great win. Fingers crossed for another top performance on Sunday.
Keep up the good work.
Dear "Viewing Admirer" your right, we should respect the officials decisions, (it's not always easy though). That brief report was written shortly after the match and i wasn't the only one who thought the decision (at the time) was "a bit harsh". The ref, who i thought had a good game (by the way), gave the goal in the first instance, its only when he saw the linesmans flag up that he dissallowed the goal. Having re read the sentence about the dissallowed goal, i have to admit it did seem a bit cynical (the word "apparently", especially) and not wanting to sound disrespectfull, ive removed the sentence. Thanks for your comment. We are all entitled to our opinions but i'll make sure in the future, to word any articles so as not to cause offence, it's not what we're here for.
Good luck for Sunday, boys played well against very good opposition on Sunday but was there the need Trev to put in about the offside goal its down to respecting the officials whether you agree or not.
Well done to our boys, another great match - you played well and deserved to win. Lets look forward to the next round.
Thanks sarah, much appreciated. George is an avid follower of your site as alot of the boys are his schoolmates. good luck boys for tomorrow.
Val, thanks for your guestbook entry. You're right, there were other boys in the St Marks football team who played their part and did well in the Schools County Cup Tournament but as the article in our Club News was about the Salisbury City Squad players who took part for St Marks, i didn't mention anyone else. If i'd been writing a report to the Salisbury Journal, i would have done but as this was just a few sentences aimed at our squad and our parents, i just gave our boys a mention but you are right, they are a good bunch of lads and on the day and considering the conditions they ALL ( including George, Fred and Matt) played their part and did well to win the tournament and win a place in the Inter County Cup Tournament. I Hope they do just as well in this and i wish them all the best.
Just like to mention though, Keenan Waters did indeed get a mention as he trains with our squad and he was therefor relevant to an article about our Salisbury City Boys Squad.
Just like to mention as they have been omitted from the report ref St Marks U11's Football team who won their recent tournament also included Keenan Waters from Salisbury U11's (badger league team), George Bunsell from Laverstock &Ford U11's, Fred Davis an U10 local club player and Matthew Gunstone-Gray another U10 local club player. Well done to you all. You are a great bunch of lads and work well as a team for your school.
YYYYessss! What a fab day for football and you done us proud lads. Keep up the good work and the good times boys. xxx
Just to wish all parents and boys a very Happy New Year. Lets hope the weather is better this year !!! See you Friday night boys - Johnny
How very disappointing that the boys are missing another match due to weather - can't we order some decent weather on line somewhere! Hope everyone had a good New Year and look forward to seeing you all at some point when we get a match!
Happy New Year to you all and best wishes for success in 2010! Let 2010 be the year for Burden's boys to press on and leave 'em all in our wake. So, work off those mince pies, come down from your chocolate high and get yourselves in shape, for it is a new year and a chance to make new commitments - make team success your primary one! COME ON THE WHITES! xxx
Hi everyone
Here's hoping that not too much turkey + trimmings, mince pies, christmas cake was consumed and the boys are ready for a good match tomorrow - I know we in the Muge house are looking forward to some fresh air!!!!!
Good luck for tomorrow.
MERRY CHRISTMAS to all the boys and their families! Hope you all have a great time. See you on Sunday (Hopefully!), when I can give you all late Christmas cards! ha ha or should I say ho ho. xxx
Sorry it's impersonal - we had cards for everyone but weather stopped play and meeting up AGAIN ! - " HAPPY CHRISTMAS to All. Here's to a very successful 2010!!! " The Bradwells x
will we still be standing on the touch line in June next year? Please can we have match soon (they could always play wellyball) - can't take much more of the disappointment on the boys faces!!!!!
It seems ridiculous to me that with the glorious sunshine and the favourable weatherfront we are experiencing this lovely Sunday morning, that any football match should be postponed. Waterlogged pitches? - LOVELY!! Whats wrong with the boys getting a bit muddy or the ball slowing up a bit? makes the games a bit more interesting in my humble opinion - hardly the premiership is it?! Let the boys play!! These groundsmen calling off games at the first sign of the heaviest storms of the decade need to STOP!! Anyone would think they were in charge of Wembleys sacred turf not some old cows field with a few white lines marked on it and as for Health and Safety - don't get me started! (nanny state!) - Back to the Weather Forecast - HEAVY RAIN, HEAVY RAIN AND HEAVY RAIN. Wishing you all the best for your season that looks likely to run on untill next September. Michael - (now, where's my brolly ?)
game off again that totally sucks i was looking forward 2 playing 4 the whites from skip
Happy 11th Birthday to you Billy, hope you enjoy your special day today and have a good match tomorrow in the cup. Love you loads. Mum and Dad. xxxxoooxxxx
Morning Boys

Chris Excellent website, will speak to you soon-Kev Coates
hopefully all of you have read the information about training starting earlier . we have to get our fitness levels up .as we havenot played for a few weeks.Support rememberance sunday with a poppy all of us. Regards cb.
Hope all you lads have had a great break over half term - lets go back and show them what SC are made of. Good luck for the match on Sunday. Ruth
Well done in yesterdays cup match boys! this could have been a tricky fixture but you limited Winchester Youth's attempts on our goal to only 2 or 3, non of which troubled our keeper (not counting their consolation goal, scored while we were still celebrating our 3rd). Overall you controlled the midfield and as well as the 3 goals scored and the 1 goal disallowed you also created other good chances that could have made the scoreline even higher. So, take on board the positives, work to erase any negatives and onwards you go, to the next round and Woolton Hill Argyl. All the best. Trev
2nd Round Hampshire Cup

Tough game today boys. 1-0 down and we came back fighting for our 3-1 win. (You would have thought Sarah and I had just seen the Boys win the World Cup with our celebrations HA HA HA !!) Excellent Squad page Mr and Mrs Ward, I love this website !! xx
Praise well deserved! Today you can be proud to be 'Burden's boys' :0) GET IN THERE!

Thank you for you kind congratulations message regarding the engagement. Also this is a brilliant website, we are all very proud of what you have created. Well done to you both.
Also a massive congratulations to the boys for the outstanding result in the first leg of the Hampshire Cup on the Isle of Wight yesterday. May all our luck continue throughout this seasn xxxx
Congratulations to the boys on their first victory in the Tyro League. Best of luck to you all for the forthcoming season. Kim and Keenan Waters xx
Just a quickie to say firstly what a fab website you guys have created.Thankyou! Also to say what a great start the boys have had - pre season and 1st league game today. We certainly look a tough side to beat! Looking forward to the overseas fixture next week! WELL DONE THE LADS!!! Bradwells x
Come on, don't be shy, what do you think of the site so far? What do you think of the pre-season so far? Looking forward to the trip to the Isle of Wight or not? If you think it was bad enough having to go there in the first place, just think, it's not impossible, if we progress, that we get drawn against another team from the Isle of Wight in the next round, hopefully not (for travel + cost reasons) but you never know! Ha Ha, thought that would get you moaning. Are you looking forward to the new season? Want to leave any messages? We still need someone or two, to step forward to do match reports, any volunteers. If not, no problem, we'll still stick up match results and scorers. Thats it for now, over and out. (Is there anybody there?)
HAMPSHIRE CUP INFO: Did you know that 128 teams start out in the Hampshire County Sunday Under 11's Cup that we're in and that even though the competition hasn't started yet, 9 teams are already through to the next round via "walkovers" (teams puling out etc).
To Trev and Sarah, well done on setting up the site. It looks fabulous. Many thanks... Tim, Naomi and Tom
CONGRATULATIONS to Claire (club treasurer) and Steve who have just announced their engagement! All the Best to you both from the Ward household. xxxx
